| ATTORNEY'S PROFILE Michael Ewetuga is a tireless worker and does not take any case lightly despite the financial situation of the client. He ensures that his client obtains justice by giving the cases the best possible attention the cases demand. Michael does not push his clients to take a deal where the facts of a case reveal that due procedures were not followed. He had a number of cases dismissed via motions where searches and seizures were unconstitutional. Michael does not take a case to trial just to beef up his trial resume; he explores every angle of a case to ensure that his clients’ constitutional rights are not violated. He recently had a case against a defendant dismissed after it became obvious that the case was not meticulously investigated by the police. This deficiency was revealed after Michael interviewed the City’s witness. Also recently he had a felony charged reduced to a misdemeanor after he filed a motion that the prosecutor cannot prove the elements of the crime as charged. The client, in that case, was clearly overcharged. He had a case dismissed not long ago when, on stipulation to facts, he argued successfully to the judge that the police had no right to interfere in a purely contractual dispute and that the police had no right to enter the hotel room of his client without a warrant when the client refused the police entrance and they entered despite obvious protest from the client. When it comes to immigration law, Michael uncovers the answer to every issue and does not give false hopes to clients where their circumstances do not reveal any immigration benefit. He is quite familiar with this country’s complex immigration laws having gone through the system himself as an Immigrant. He successfully argued for a reduction in bail of a client at the Immigration Court recently. Michael was also able to obtained adjustment of status for a client that had been told by other lawyers that she had to go back to her country because she will not be able to adjust her status in the United States. Michael has helped some of his clients obtain United States Citizenship in a fast and timely manner where such clients are qualified for the benefit. Michael practiced as an Immigration Attorney in TX where he helped his clients navigate the uncertain Immigration terrain before moving to Washington State. On his arrival in Washington State, he worked as a public defender with Pierce County Department of Assigned Counsel, where he worked with criminal attorneys that can hold their own in any court. He left that job to join the prestigious Law Offices of Wickens Oliver, P.S. the two partners are tested criminal trial attorneys and were generous in showing Michael the rope in terms of criminal trials. He recently set up his private practice in Tacoma, WA and share offices with some of the finest lawyers in the profession. Michael’s passion for research is what set him apart; he is not afraid to take out the nuts and bolts of a case regardless of the client’s financial situation. Michael is always willing to listen and give meaningful advice even before a client engages his services.
